How to get to Woodpecker Pool Carp and Catfish Lake.

Woodpecker Pool is in the Dordogne in the South West of France. We are close to the small market town of Thiviers which is only a 10 minute drive away.

When you have had your booking confirmed we will give you exact directions to Woodpecker Pool.

We are about 450 miles south of Calais, if you choose to drive the travel time will be approximately 7 to 8 hours depending on which route you choose to use.

If you choose to drive down then you can travel by the Euro Tunnel http://www.eurotunnel.com this will get you outside Calais in about 35 minutes or you can use one of the ferry services from Dover to Calais on Sea France http://www.seafrance.com or P&O Ferries http://www.poferries.com crossing time across the channel is about 1 hour 30 minutes or you could choose to travel from Dover to Dunkerque on http://www.norfolkline.com this takes about 2 hours or Dover to Boulogne on LD Lines http://www.ldlines.co.uk/ there are also other routes such as Portsmouth to Caen but these are very much more expensive.

You also have the option to fly from several different UK airports to Limoges Airport which is only an easy 40 minute drive from where we are. The most popular is Ryanair http://www.ryanair.com who fly from London Stansted, Bournemouth, Bristol, Liverpool, East Midlands and Edinburgh, they are also starting a new service from Leeds- Bradford in 2010. If you book early or sign up to their newsletter they will let you know when they have special offers on all their routes. Ryanair will carry your fishing tackle for you, the charge for this depends on exactly what you wish to bring, we can hire you the big things like bedchairs, bivvies and rods etc and we can also supply you with bait, so if you choose to fly just ask us for a price for what ever you require and we will do our utmost to help you.

You can also fly with Flybe http://www.flybe.com from Southampton.

Apart from the above several arlines fly from other airports in the UK to Limoges, Bergerac, Angouleme or even Bordeaux.
