Happy New Year from Woodpecker Pool

We hope everybody had a great Christmas and Sue and I wish you all health, happiness and prosperity for 2008.

The weather like the UK has been very up and down, short periods of frost but as yet not quite as bad as we have seen previously, the lake has been covered in ice on a couple of occasions. We have had quite a lot of rain which is good for the lake and the fish as it completely changes the water in the lake freshening everything up. January and February are generally the worst month’s weather wise so we will just have to wait and see what happens.

At this time of year we are trying to sort the place out ready for our new season, which is not too far away now. It is mainly ground work around the place, sorting out the trees etc and any work we need to do with the accommodation to get it ready to welcome our guests once again.

On another note if any of you require bait, especially boilies for your week at Woodpecker can you please order them before the end of January so that we can order them and have them here for you. Only short I’m afraid as there is not much else to tell at the moment, the only fishing being done here at the moment is by the Kingfisher and Heron so the fish are having a well deserved rest.

We are looking forward to the new season to welcome our friends and customers to Woodpecker once again, old and new alike we look forward to seeing you all in 2008.

All the very best till next time,

Sue and Doug.
